Zakinthos is a very exceptional island by a number of remarkable locations which certainly is worthto pay a visit, especially with your own sportcruiser. Although these locations are a must to visit, by means of the local mass-tourism it is considerable less attractive. With your own sportcruiser you can get there yourself, without the burden of the crowds.

The West-coast of this island is really breathtaking because of the enormous steep cliffs, bright yellow rock-walls up to a hight off hundreds of meters, rising out of the clear azure bleu sea. Beneath these golden "sky-scrapers" of Zakinthos are laying the golden beaches which only can be visited with a boat, happens to be your sportcruiser.
During many centuries the sea and wind has formed beautiful caves where you can drive in with your sportcruiser. In the caves you can find there several little beaches too for a picnic in the shade or for a little sleep. No one will disturb you when you enjoy a skinny dip or have a little party with your friends.

Also wonders of nature are the famous 'Blue-caves' of Zakinthos. Also these Blue caves are only reachable with a boat. The bright yellow rocks contain minerals that reduces the increase of algae and other organic growth. Fallen by millions years gone 'dust' of these minerals lies as a yellow blanket on the sea floor in front of these coasts. An unreal azure blue sea lights up as a breathtaking result.

Furthermore towards the north you can find the 'shipwreck', that is one of the numerous `tourist attractions' of Zakinthos. This ship, stranded in the seventies, is laying on a small beach, surrounded by huge walls of rock, also only reachable by boat. In the south of Zakinthos you can find the large Caretta-Caretta turtles, some of them are bigger than 1 m, spectacularly for snorkeling and diving. Especially at the island Marathonissi are still many Caretta-Caretta turtle nests. In this area the water is very clear and the underwaterworld is rich of anemones and splendid coloured fish, an Eldorado for snorkelling and diving. This island has many sand-beaches.skyscrapers2
